Your Project - Rag Tag 'n' Textile
We are a social firm based in the West Highlands, we make high quality accessories and home furnishing items out of recycled materials. We work mainly with people who are recovering from mental health problems
Where is it?
We are in Balmacara Square, nr Kyle of Lochalsh
Who's involved?
Tag Highland work with Rag, Tag and Textile as a partnership organisation. We currently have two paid members of staff at Rag Tag and Textile and a ever growing number of volunteers, who work together to support ten trainees. Tag also have two staff members and we work closely with them to help provide the best possible support and training package for our trainees
How is it funded?
Scottish Commity Foundation, Comic Relief.
When is it funded to?
2011.
Biggest achievement so far?
Moving into our premises, achieving funding, producing a growing quantity of gorgeous textile items.
Any downsides so far?
The time it took us to find funding to be able to be open five days a week.
Any advice needed from Rural Gateway users?
