The Moderators of the "Going to eBay Live 2005" Group are pleased to announce that this year our good friends at buySAFE have graciously offered to be a sponsor for our Unofficial Annual Sellers Meet & Greet.
This is very exciting. The Sellers Meet and Greet is open to all eBay Members and is going to be at The Paragon Bar at The Hotel Montgomery at 211 S. First Street in San Jose starting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday June 22nd. It is near the Convention Center and other downtown hotels.

For those of you that haven't attended this event in the past, let me say that this is one I look forward to every year. It keeps growing, and with this sponsorship from buySAFE it will be even better!

I just heard from Tim at buySAFE and he's really excited to be involved. Last year, in New Orleans, he was at the meet & greet and realized what a great time it was for everybody that attended and what a big help it is to make a friend before the convention starts if you're traveling alone.

We had no idea there was another cocktail party planned. We did not read the posts until someone notified us about the Meet and Greet today. We contacted the hotel in January 2005 to talk about an open no host cocktail party. We had no idea there was another one planned and we did not read the posts until someone notified us today about the Meet and Greet. We were just posting an update. No reason why they can't be combined is there? Unless someone has an objection about people meeting to have a good time, which was our only intention, we don't see any reason why both parties can't go on! If you go back and look at the posts in January 2005 for eBay Live, you will see we posted info about stay at the Hotel Montgomery and stated we were going to host a cocktail party at the hotel on Wednesday. I don't know why there should be a problem, everyone is welcome and this is just a get together, that is all, it is not a competition for cocktail parties. Just wanted to let you know that we were not trying to step on any toes! Hope to meet all of you at the hotel!
WOW! talk about a hijacking! looks like this is going to be one very crowded situation instead of a lovely get together that this group has put together each year and the hard work they put into it.
Our Third Annual Meet & Greet is actually in the bar, the Paragon. You won't be able to bring your own coctails into the bar, I would suspect.
6:30 is the time, but many folks aren't arriving until 8 or 9, so we'll be going all night in the bar area and spilling out into the nice outdoor bar area.
It was tons of fun in both Orlando and New Orleans, so make sure you stop by sometime in the evening, at the Paragon Bar at the Hotel Montgomery and make some new friends or catch up with some old friends.
This will indeed be our best Meet & Greet yet with the buySAFE sponsorship, possible coverage by Auctionbytes, a real cross section of the community in attendance and a super cool location at the Paragon.
As soon as they announce next years eBay Live location the Going To Live Group Moderators will have to get back to work scoping out the location for next year.
Hey Carolyn and Rene: Are you up for another trip to plan next year...LOL...we had such a ball went we went to San Jose last November to plan this one.
Reminder about the prize drawing: Just to let everyone know we will be starting the prize drawing around 8:00 or so. We have had a fabulous response from the Sellers on the Going to eBay Live Group Board so it looks like there are going to be lots of prizes. Anyone that arrives before then can put there name in the prize drawing......if you arrive later and we are still giving away prizes you an go ahead and add your name when you arrive.
Clarissa, I'll be bringing a donation for the prize drawing....and hoping I win one too! The picture of Meg was actually taken the day before Live in Orlando. I ran into her and Henry in the hotel Lobby. I was surprised she remember me from our previous encounters, but have since learned she is very good at remember faces and names. Helen

I might drive through Burger King and get one of those CROWNS. Then I can be known as the obnoxious one with something strange on her head that shows up everywhere at Live and freaks people out!!
No, wait, If I'm Burger King, that would mean I'd have to be outside of the Meet & Greet just looking in the windows, and that just won't work for me!!
Somebody come up with a plan for me this year. !!! I no longer have my red & purple boa that I wore in New Orleans.
As Rene said I am sure there will be folks thre until quite late. When we coordinated the details with the Bars Management back in early December to set things up they told us they would stay open (until legally mandated closing time) as long as there were still folks there buying drinks.....LOL...that should not be a problem with an eBay Crowd. One thing I love about eBayers and Live is no one is made to feel out of place. No matter what you are drinking, coffee, tea, juice, water, beer, or something stronger, you will have a great time and know you are part of the eBay Community (family). See everyone tomorrow night! Helen

I looked at some Bells in Santa Monica, but they were all attached to windchimes. I wasn't quite sure how I could adapt those to fit my needs, so I chose not to.
So, Michelle, I'm glad I'll be able to hear you coming! But I'll be the quiet one in the corner, LOL!!
