DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES - DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES CAUGHT UP IN AUCTION SCAM

Fans of TV hit DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES who have been bidding for a role on the show have been duped.
Internet auction website eBAY had been offering the walk-on part last month (FEB05) but have since pulled the item after learning it isn't for real.
And now bosses at ABC, where the show airs in the US, are suing VEL HEADLEY (corr), who is said to be the man behind the auction scam.
According to the ABC suit - obtained by US news show CELEBRITY JUSTICE - the auction ended with a winning bid of $8,700 (GBP4,579). ABC lawyers want the alleged seller to turn over any profit made from the bogus deal. It's not clear if the buyer who got duped will get any money back.
